About the New York Genealogical and Biographical Society

The NYG&B has been helping people discover their New York stories since 1869. Our mission is to preserve, document, and share the stories of families across the state of New York. We engage with genealogists, biographers, historians, and organizations to establish the broader contexts of New York’s past.

The support of our members is crucial to our ability to digitize and publish new online records, conduct educational programs, and produce expert-authored publications on New York State research.

Thank you!
