Ok, I wish to stay in touch so here is my first post. A great big thank you to you folks who do what you do for all of us. (kudos Bret and Valerie) I felt so at home during my first trip to Scotland with my predominantly Scottish grandson, the MacMichael. I had great success with his ancestry thanks to many of you, particularly Malcolm Lockerbie. And Bruce McDowall -is that correct? I shall see her again in May when I cruise around the British Isles. I have more Scots, Irish, British ancestry than German and One day I hope to know about my Scots-Irish Wilsons. I have not heretofore felt I knew enough to query about them, but maybe soon. Sue fulk dietz Earliest known Scot ancestor is Henry Wilson ?-1805 whose father may have been David/Davis Wilson 1685-? Antrim, Ulster, Ireland and his father David/Davis Wilson 1650-? Inverness, Scotland. Will be wonderful to know for certain.

Re: Roll Call

Hi Greg, Do you have a dna match with a Bonnie and a Shirley ona ancestry or do you have rellies of that name. My former husband has both those ladies and Shirley has a 2cm match with him. i hav written to her just now to see where she machess. as she does also match with about four other shared matches. I think they may be Scottish matches. Definitely one of the shared matches is a descendant of Rob and two of our sons great grandfathers daughter who was conceived in Scotland and she married a fellow William Walker also from Airlie in Scotland. It is our McArthur line I am most interested in. So far no McArthur DNA but several names of different branches of the same lineage as McArthurs I think McArthur is an inherited name. Locations Caithness, Sunderland, Lismore. Our John McArthur was in Cathcart, Renfrewshire, working at the time of his marrige in Cambuslang, Lanarkshire 2 December 1856. Banns were read in CAthcart. Trying also to find out which large farms there were in Cathcart at that time..OUr Scottish lines are. McARTHUR, STEVENSON, ORMISTON. BALFOUR, , , STEVENSON Married into the SPEIRS. Isabella had an illegitimate daughter before her marriage to John McARTHURm Christina Stevenson CAMPBELL, daughter of William CAMPBELL a farmer at Cambuslang. , she married a Robert BLACK at Campsie, Stirlingshire. DOUGAL, LAING, ROBERTSON, BENNIE and WALKER of Stirlingshire, Sct..etc. regards Edie McArthur Tasmania

STEPHENS/PRATT
Judy Last
Trying to find out more about JAMES STEPHENS who married HANNAH PRATT or BRETT on 9 April 1775 at St Cuthberts, Edinburgh. I can't find their births, although I do know that Hannah's father was named Thomas!
James and Hannah were my 4 x Gt.Grandparents, and their daughter EMELIA STEPHENS was my 3 x Gt.Grandmother. I have been unable to find a birth/baptism for her (born about 1779) or her sister Eleanor (born about 1781). A son was born on 21 Feb 1776
in Edinburgh and named DAVINELL ??? (could this have been Daniel mistranscribed)? Nothing more is known or has been found of Davinell.
James and Hannah with Emelia and Eleanor, did move to Birmingham, England possibly before 1795 and died there.
Any help finding them in Scotland would be fantastic!
