I have noticed a (farm) called Kilchiaran close to Kilchoman. In the 1811 Tenants list there is a Duncan McLellan at Kilchiaran, phonetically this sounds like the placename in your email of 29th January.
I am not making any progress with my family, so any snippet might help me link up with any other snippet, one never knows.

Islay Roll call: Kilchoman Parish: MacKenzie-Campbell et al
Mac
This is the start of my Islay line. I have information on the next generation or two in most cases but would like to know if there are any current members. Mr. Houston has been most helpful, especialy with the Fergusons. The Campbell connection is still
unknown.

Roll Call - McDougall
jemooney@...
Hi Folks - Thank you for welcoming me into your group. My Great Grandfather was Duncan McDougall B April 1837 in Port Ellen, Islay. Died in Nelson, BC in 1907. His father was also Duncan McDougall. My great grandfather was a Presbyterian Minister on Islay (I visited the Islay church in 1986). Many of his children emigrated to Canada (primarily BC) - I have a lot of information about my Great Grandfather Duncan's descendants but very little about his ancestors. DNA evidence provided links to other McDougall branches in Southern US and Ontario but I have little documentation as to how we are connected.

Islay plaque"
Just wondering if anyone else has a little Islay plaque like this one.
At its widest, about 3 1/2 inches; 4 1/2 inches long. Painted on thin laminated? wood. No initials or signature. On the back is a hook and a tag - in my grandmother's hand - "Islay Island". Found with old photos...after my grandmother was gone. I know neither she nor my mum ever went to Islay in Scotland - and Mum not to Islay in Ontario, or even Alberta. However, one of my great aunts did work in the hospital in Islay, Alberta for a while. It just occurred to me - perhaps it had been hers? Some kind of souvenir? Although she wasn't from the Islay Scotland side of the family. (Wish I could ask!) Diane

Larrachaluil, the Oa (spelling?)
isabel vaughan
Interested in "Larrachaluil" (spelling uncertain). Located in the Oa, midway between Lurabus and Ballichatrigan. Found it mapped in Bartholemew's 1895 Atlas. Wonder whether anyone may know of this location, and whether anything remains of tenant dwellings or other. If anyone knows of or has visited this location, would love to hear from you! Isabel

Hi Seymour. I can see the families you mention. As you said our match with dna is small so possible gens back. My maternal line are MacDougall(McLullich) and McPhail who were in in MULL late 1700s but of course they moved around.
