Re: Currie / McVurich - please help

Thanks Roger.   I do not expect ever to find out.     A question for you.   Family lore is that my Donald Currie had a son who died in a snow storm with his cousin.   Would that be the John Currie I heard about years ago?

Morning all:

My Donald Currie born about 1768 Bowmore married Catherine Sinclair 4 Feb 1786.  Roger McWee told me years ago no one knew who his father is, and if found out I would be told.   In my tree I put his father as John Currie question mark.

Have a good day,

Hi Janice

I was passing a general comment on the dangers of accepting data from Ancestry trees without checking back to primary sources.  Not specific to the content of your earlier message.

Hi Iain! Which assumption, please & thanks. :) I have seen many unverified whoppers in trees too - hence my reluctance to add Ivar McVurich to the tree without knowing the connection to Currie. If anything I am overly cautious when adding people.
